Advantages and features of UPVC windows
■ UPVC windows are energy-efficient
Like wood, PVC provides ideal thermal insulation. The PVC’s thermal conductivity is lower but is very close to thermal conductivity of wood, higher by a wide margin than aluminum and iron. As a result, the most important benefits of UPVC windows include reduction in energy consumption up to 50%, lower investment required in terms of building installations and lower depreciation of heating and cooling system. It should be noted that thermal conductivity is affected by the number of glass panes, type of gas injected between the panes and assembly procedure of the window. At the same time, UPVC windows minimize the risk of electric shock due to high electrical resistance and require no earthing system.

Coefficients of energy loss in a building
Nearly half of energy in buildings is dissipated through windows and doors. The window prevention of heat and cold transfer is examined based on a metric called heat transfer coefficient (u_value), which depends on the coefficient of heat transfer in glass and frame. In fact, the heat transfer coefficient is related to the amount of energy passing a unit area (one square meter) of a given object per unit of time (one second) under conditions where there is Kelvin temperature difference between the internal and external sides of the object. Accordingly, this metric is reported in watts per square meter, per degree Kelvin (W/m2-K) or similar units of measurement. In this respect, the balance and proportionality in heat transfer coefficients of glass and frame are essential for optimal design of the windows in a building. For instance, it shoes the irrational use of double glazed in metal windows, or use of a single glazed UPVC windows. Concerning the reduction in sound intensity, the type of frame is crucial in addition to thickness and number of glass layers. The following figures compare the sound intensities in several types of glasses. The heat transfer coefficient of frame (UF) is around 9.5 W/m2-K in aluminum profiles compared to 5.3 W/m2-K in thermal break profiles .W/m2-K 5/3 in ordinary UPVC profiles.
